Conquer Job Hunting Apathy
Jack, fell from his last job, was frozen in a place called Apathy. He had been for months. I knew I had to move, had to find a job, but? I could not seem to get their act together. AO, he had tried? a little. But their lack of immediate success, it just made much more apathetic. Lethargic, almost indifferent, dithered, wasting time on unrelated tasks.
Found excuses not to move forward. Delayed? and hated himself for it. His family and friends tried to be supportive, but that only seemed to deepen his gloomy outlook. He was trapped. Get in the Game Sound familiar? If so, read on? there are things you can do to get out of jam quickly! Irrational fear, not lack of ability or opportunity, is the most common cause of apathy in the job search. Sometimes I fear they are too old, too inexperienced, too much time away from work, too? something.
At other times, fearing the rejection, we assume that nobody will want to again. Or that if they do, we will not be able to keep the job. We fear that the labor market is a bad, bad race track, the wrong time of year, our health? Oh, lots and lots of things that lead us to apathy! What to do: Put your fears aside Worrying about the past or the future that no one ever helped me, but thoughtful, persistent action will. Others, many in the close of the worst and tired of "sawing sawdust," have found their way forward. You can too. Plan and, if necessary, the new plan "unless the plan," stated, "plan to fail."
